  • Note with photo: "Born Jan. 6, 1807 at Washington, Wilkes Co., Georgia. Married Elizabeth Orton, and Betsy Cranston McCuiston. Crossed plains 1849, E.T. Benson Co. Tooele Mayer and councilor to Hugh Gowans, Tooele Stake Presidency. Carpenter, gunsmith, musician. Died Dec. 6, 1867, At Tooele."
  • Treasurer of Tooele County 1855--served as selectman two or three times over the next few years. Third mayor of Tooele, about 1861-62. Counselor to John Rowberry, not Hugh Gowans.

  • Born 23 Oct. 1809 in Breson, Rowen, North Carolina. Married William Culbertson Gollaher Sr. on 30 Aug 1828. Died 7 Aug 1854 in Tooele, Tooele, Tooele, Utah.
  • Elizabeth died before glass plate photography. If there is a photo, it would likely be a daguerreotype.

  • Born 30 Dec 1831 in Clinton, DeWitt, Illinois. Married Ezra T. Benson 4 Jun 1853 in Salt Lake. Lived in Logan, Utah, after 1860. Died 4 May 1904 in Wellsville, Cache, Utah.

  • Born 22 Feb 1811 in Mendon, Massachusetts. Moved to Quincy, Illinois, where he joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Worked on Nauvoo Temple. Made an Apostle in 1846. Utah Pioneer of 1847; crossed the plains eight times (came via Panama the 9th). Helped colonized Tooele and later Cache Valley. Died 3 Sep 1869 in Ogden, Utah.

  • Born 28 Nov 1824 in Carlisle, Cumberland, England. Had 3 wives. One of the first settlers in Tooele. Probably the first LDS missionnaires called from Tooele, he was sent to India. Mayor of Tooele. Died 1 Feb 1895 in Tooele.

  • History of Alvin James McCuistion, which mentions William C. Jr. several times.

I have additional photos, including a photo of James M. Gollaher Jr. with the Tooele band, Les Gollaher with the Tooele Dramatic Club, two possible photos of Isabella Miller Gollaher, as well as several unknowns.
